General information 

LOCATION:
Heritage School of Woodworking is easily accessible in central Texas between Dallas
and Austin. From IH-35, take Exit 343 (north of Waco). Turn west onto FM 308. Travel 3
miles on FM 308, then turn right (north) onto FM 933. Drive 1.5 miles on FM 933 and
then turn left (west) onto Halbert Lane. The woodworking school lies one-half mile
straight ahead. Our street address is 608 Dry Creek Road, Waco, Texas 76705. (See
attached map below)
If you’re flying in for a class, Waco is located midway between Austin and Dallas airport.
If you don’t mind flying on smaller aircraft, Waco has an airport that’s about
15 minutes away.

CHECK-IN:
Please meet each morning at the woodshop between 8:45-9 am. Classes will begin
promptly at 9am each day, unless otherwise specified by you instructor.

DRESS:
All students should wear practical working clothes and shoes. No shorts or sandals! You
will be working with multiple sharp tools.

SPECIAL NEEDS:
Most of our facilities are wheel-chair accessible. If you need a wheel chair or have any
special needs, please call us at (254) 754-9620 and let us know as soon as you register for
the class (but no later than one week prior to your workshop).

MEALS AND REFRESHMENTS:
Cafe Homestead is a locally sourced, full-service restaurant.
They are open: Monday through Saturday from 11am to 3pm for lunch; and
Thursday through Saturday 5pm to 8:30pm for dinner –
We normally have an hour lunch break and for most classes we make a reservation at
Café Homestead so the class can eat together. (You’re welcome to bring your own lunch

AGE REQUIREMENT:
Since our workshops are designed specifically for adults, an individual must be 18 years
old to enroll or participate in a class. We highly encourage parents or guardians to attend
a class, then pass the knowledge to children who cannot meet the age requirement.

Baby sitting/child care
We do not provide baby-sitting or child care services for parents who are participate in
workshops. No children will be allowed in the workshop area while a parent is taking a
class.

SMOKING OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES:
Thank you for honoring our policy of no smoking or consumption of alcoholic beverages
when attending a class.

CANCELLATION OR TRANSFER POLICY:
If you cancel your registration, and CANNOT FIND SOMEONE TO TAKE YOUR PLACE the following applies:

  • Cancellations more than 50 days before the start date of the class, we refund your payment less an Administrative Fee based on the length of your class. (See schedule below.)
  • Cancellations within 50 days from the start date of the class, we will refund you 50% of the class cost.
  • Cancellations less than 10 business days before the start date of a class or if you fail to show
    up on the day of the class, NO REFUND or TRANSFER will be available.

  • ADMINISTRATIVE FEE AND TRANSFER FEE SCHEDULE:
    1-3 day class $35.00
    4-11 day class $150.00
    12 day class (or more) $200.00
