Learn to Build a Brazos Rocking Chair

This Brazos rocking chair is one of the unique pieces made by the craftsmen here at the woodworking school. These craftsmen instructors will take you step-by-step as you build this classic design from either solid cherry or black walnut wood using traditional hand methods.

While building this complex chair you will learn how to accurately lay out and cut angle tenons, you will learn how to shape the curved parts using a spokeshave, and you will also learn the methods for hand carving as you sculpt the seat for your chair.

At the end of the class, each student will leave with a finished rocking chair of heirloom quality, as well as the skills needed to build more chairs at home, including dining room chairs.

Class cost includes all materials and tools are provided.
